Seal Travertine Frequency

How often travertine is sealed is determined by a few variables keeping in mind

sealers contain various enhancers that determine how long they stay effective.

Therefore, the frequency will depend on the quality of the sealer. Some are water based and others have color enhancers.

Every few years may work for back splashes and wall tiles however, for walkways and high traffic areas you may have to seal as needed.

If there is a drastic color change when wet implying weathering and fading, then it’s a good indication that it’s time to seal.
